Interview with Albion Fit

In episode eleven of my podcast, I interview Liz and Dave Findlay, the Co-Founders of Albion Fit.  Liz and Dave are really good friends of mine that showed me around Guatemala a couple of years ago when I took the above picture.  Albion Fit makes fitness clothing and swimsuits for women and girls.  This episode can be found on iTunes or Stitcher. Entrepreneur Stories: Episode 4

Today, I posted Episode 4 of my podcast which can be found on iTunes here, on Stitcher here, or below.  In this episode, I interview Jess Larsen, the President of Armour Stream and Founder of the Child Rescue Association.   Jess’s entrepreneur story is incredible, from dropping out of design school, to founding his current venture, Armour Midstream, which is an asset management firm.  I was so impressed that Jess also found to start the Child Rescue Association, a nonprofit that rescues children from sex slavery around the world.  Over the years, Jess has started numerous different private equity startups and has a wealth of knowledge from his successes and failures.  During his career, he’s also had the opportunity to consult...

StartFEST Day 2

Day 2 of StartFEST: At least two people today said that you need to work your butt off if you want your startup to be successful.  If you’ll remember my post here, Mark Cuban’s advice to “kick your own [butt]” is actually what motivated me in the first place to start my own entrepreneurial journey.  Butt kicking, it would seem, is turning out to be a major theme across the board.   Some of the biggest names of day two at StartFEST were Dave Bateman, CEO of Entrata (formerly Property Solutions) and Clarke Miyasaki, Vice President of Business Development at Stance.  Below are some of my favorite quotes and thoughts from the day. Nate Gardner - EVP, MX “Build a...
