About this project
Introducing the Breton Weekender!
Keeping true to our brand, we designed the Breton Weekender to travel comfortably and organize all of your gear, while still looking like a high-end bag. The Breton Weekender is a modern travel bag, combining the vintage look of waxed cotton and the premium feel of Italian leather. Perfect for your next weekend getaway.
The Breton Weekender was designed to look and feel like the Modern Day Briefcase. Like the Modern Day Briefcase, the Weekender comes in three different colors: blue, black, and grey. This bag is designed with Italian leather handles, an adjustable leather shoulder strap, a padded laptop sleeve, and 10 additional pockets to store everything you need for your next trip.
Packing System Features
The bag can be purcahsed with the Weekender Packing System. This set includes four bags to keep your clothes, shoes, socks, and toiletries organized.
To make sure that the Weekender will get better with age, we started with the best materials.
We source our leather from La Bretagna, one of the oldest tanneries in Italy. This leather is rich and durable, and will gain character with each additional use.
For the exterior of the bag, we chose a 10 oz. waxed cotton to make the bag water-resistant and durable. In addition, we used the most reliable YKK zippers on the market to ensure the bag's reliability.
We took a lot of inspiration from our first bag, the Modern Day Briefcase. We wanted a bag that would take you from the work-week to the weekend.
This is our second Kickstarter. During the process of fulfilling our first Kickstarter, we found manufacturers, suppliers, and shipping partners to help us fulfill the orders from our first campagin. We trust them and we learned how to work with them to achieve the best results. Below, please review our Production Schedule.
We have finished shipping out the Modern Day Briefcases from our first campagin. And below you can see what our customers are saying about our bags.
I am a recovering attorney who has worked for enough people to last a lifetime. After realizing how much I disliked attorney life, I worked for a startup as the director of operations for awhile, before I decided to risk it all, and become an entrepreneur full-time.
This company was jump-started by Mark Cuban. Really, no joke! When I was considering whether or not to start working on this bag, I came across the following quote by Mark Cuban:
"[E]very entrepreneur's job is to invent the future. I also call it ‘kicking your own [butt].” Someone is out there who thinks they have a better idea than you have. A better solution than you have. A better or more efficient product than you have...it's part of your job as the owner of the company to stay ahead of them."
After reading this quote, I decided I was not going to be the guy who stood on the sidelines saying, “I came up with that idea first, but I was too busy.” From that day on, I started waking up at 4 am, so that I could work on the project for three hours before I went to work. Now two years later, after funding our first project, we are launching our second bag on Kickstarter.
I have a bunch of kids (4) and a beautiful wife who keeps me on my toes. If I'm not in the office, I'm probably road biking.
Thank you to all of my friends, family, and backers who have supported and encouraged me throughout this whole process. I could not have done this without you! I would especially like to thank my wife who has supported and encouraged me along the way. Also, I would like to thank the following people who have helped me throughout my campaign:
Industrial and Graphic Design: Samuel Whitworth
Video: Big Door Network
Photography: Weston Colton & Jorge Tenorio
Models: Chelsie and Chase Starley
Cheerleader Squad: Jacob Carter & Chris Padilla
Risks and challenges
I have firsthand, professional experience with product development and manufacturing. In preparation for this campaign, I have already setup partnerships with skilled tradesmen for materials and manufacturing. I want to make sure I avoid any potential risks and delays in delivering the Breton Weekender.
With that said, there are inherent risks of delay during the production process that may be beyond my control. In any case, I will keep backers updated throughout the campaign and manufacturing phase to ensure that I stay as true as possible to the proposed delivery schedule.
Thank you for joining my story and helping make the Breton Weekender a reality!
